Hand carved to showcase a Thor's Hammer, this black, brown and white horn tankard features a wooden bottom and shows some of the rougher texture from the top horn layers for a more traditional look. The background has been painted using pyrography to give a brown background making the Skane Hammer stand out even more.
One of the best knownitems from the Viking Age is the Thor's Hammer (Mjlnirin Old Norse). The Thor's Hammer was worn by pagans who followed the Norse Gods and in particular, Thor. The Thor's Hammer was a magical weapon carried by the God and made by dwarves. It had many powers and the image of the hammer was usually worn by Heathens, one of the most famous and instantly recognisable Hammers is the archaeological examplefromSkne in Sweden.

Horns are by-products of the meat industry. Our horns are salvaged from this so instead of going to waste, they are cleaned, reconditioned and turned into a beautiful vessel to start a new life. Each is handmade and unique. All our horns are cleaned, sculpted and polished by our craftsman to a beautiful finish and are safe to drink from.
